When I started testing the 10573B torque screwdriver, Neiko was quickly becoming my go-to cheap tool brand. (We all need one, right?) I was skeptical about whether or not it could deliver a precision tool that was worth the time. However, the testing period proved positive.
The screwdriver has an average adjustable range, at 10-50 in-lb. I wanted the ¼” drive long shank because it gives an atypical ability in torque screwdrivers to reach into tight spaces. That being said, anybody with experience would tell you it’s not actually very long — you’ll have to get the job done with a 4” shaft.
The kit comes with 20 drivers in Phillips, flat, hex, and star drives. It includes an ¼” adapter. I was satisfied with the case overall, which seemed durable. But the hinge and closure clips were clearly flimsy, and there’s nowhere to securely store the adapter except attached to the tool.
But you get what you pay for. And I was overall satisfied with the Neiko unit for the price. Adjusting the torque was not difficult at any level and the indicator was clear and easy to read. The screwdriver’s click was both consistent and impossible to miss. During the testing period, I had no problems with identifying my pre-set torque or over-tightening.
Though I wasn’t thrilled with every aspect of the unit’s packaging and presentation, its performance left me with no complaints. From my experience, the Neiko 10573B torque screwdriver set would be a good starter kit for any home user. Its long shaft variant could make it one of the best torque screwdrivers for electricians; it solves the problem of reaching into tight spaces.
NOTE: the screwdriver did not come with a calibration certificate. However, it did test accurately to within an in-lb. or 2 against a certified torque screwdriver I used concurrently.

The Wheeler F.A.T., or Firearm Accurizing Torque screwdriver, is massively popular and widely successful among reviewers. The kit is simple; 8 bits, a screwdriver, and a case. Home/casual users should note it does not come with a Phillips bit — Wheeler optimizes the tool for gun scopes.
The first thing I noticed about my Wheeler F.A.T., as soon as I received it, was that the package had been opened. This seemed like a minor detail until I started corroborating the event among other users. Though the vast majority of Wheeler F.A.T. users are satisfied, there is a reasonably broad pool of folks who have received incomplete kits. Luckily, my unit included all parts on receipt.
The feel of the tool weirded me out a little bit. The case felt super flimsy — the hinge was loose, and I wasn’t impressed by the plastic. Also, it didn’t hold the screwdriver firmly inside. That gave me a bad feeling about accuracy over time with jostling, possible drops, etc.
Moving on, the screwdriver’s handle was noticeably sticky. It didn’t necessarily leave residue on my hands, but I never like the feel of gummy rubber. Presumably, Wheeler uses sticky rubber for better grip.
Performance-wise, the tool worked fine in all of my applications up to 25 in-lb. of torque. The slip was just right — very noticeable and with a wide throw to prevent over-tightening. Some users have reported soft bits, but I didn’t experience the issue.
All in all, I don’t think I accept the Wheeler F.A.T. Except for the slip action, I’m not impressed by any aspect of the presentation or effect. I like that it’s calibrated, but I’m not convinced it would stay accurate if I were to drop it in its case, for instance. Over 8,000 5-star reviewers speak for themselves, but somebody has to be the voice of dissent.

The Wera Kraftform line features a wide variety of torque screwdrivers, tailored for different applications and torque unit measurements. At the time of this writing, many were deeply discounted on Amazon.
Most of the entries are compact and lightweight — a few ounces lighter and an inch or two shorter than most other torque screwdrivers. Their ergonomic shapes promise comfort during repetitive use. And L-shaped designs are available in some ranges, which should help the user deliver all the torque they need. Accuracy is a rather unimpressive +/-6%, but at least it’s specified. If the tools were listed at their triple-digit full prices, I would probably pass over them, due to their sometimes-short range and the hard-to-adjust variants.
